I graduated from Bastyr University and completed an internship in the field of nutrition. Working in a hospital I found that I loved the learning, but I didn’t feel I was able to use all of my nutrition knowledge to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I wanted to make a difference, and so sought out additional training in Functional Nutrition, which I applied while working in private practice.

My multi-year training in Functional Nutrition enabled me to understand all of the aspects that can impact a person’s nutritional needs on a deeper level. This empowered me to help people with more challenging issues.

Additionally, my Functional Nutrition training lead me to the field of genomics. Over the last three years I have been learning as much about genomics as I can, earning certifications along the way. Genomics is very complex. There are always new discoveries and research being conducted, which in turn leads to further updates or new SNPs being discovered. It takes constant research and review to stay on top of this ever-changing science. The benefits of using this approach have driven great results with my clients.

I like to think of myself as providing the translation of this biochemical process to action steps in your day to day life.

On A Personal note

  • I am a married mother with three young daughters and am passionate about teaching my kids the skills they need to nourish themselves, both now and as they grow. This passion extends to my friends and clients, as I enjoy helping others, and truly want to help make an impact for the better - on both a personal and global scale. You will see come across in my resources page as I recommend SCA, recycled workout attire, and more

  • When I not spending time with my family, I love learning, engaging with friends, cooking and eating flavorful meals, working out, as well as spending time outside and playing Mario with my kids

  • I worked very hard every step of the way to get to where I am, including working and paying my way through collage. I support Black Lives Matter, small and local businesses, and Women in Business

  • I buy local, eat fresh and do what I can to give back to the community

  • I use the pronouns she / her. I want to assure you that I work hard to be aware of my values and I completely respect and appreciate you and your values

  • Lastly, I want to share that I am not perfect, but I work hard to be a good person, wife, mother, and dietitian

MPH, RDN, CD, and Genomic Specialist

As an RD over the last 10 years, I come to believe nutrition should be personalized to each individual for optimal results and am passionate about using food as medicine to help my clients prevent and alleviate many chronic diseases. I have spent the last 4 years in private practice specializing in Nutritional Genomics and Testing to help clients understand how their genes impact their health and nutrition needs. I love working with clients looking to optimize their health and nutrition and feel their best, clients experiencing some underlying deficiencies or metabolic inefficiencies, and clients needing extra support achieving weight loss or athletic performance goals.

I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business and Economics from UCLA and a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Washington where I also completed my dietetic internship. Additionally, I have also completed advanced coursework in functional nutrition with the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy and several courses in nutrigenomics, nutrigenetics as well as culinary genomics.

I am passionate about actively pursuing more continuing education in the fields of functional nutrition and nutrigenomics.

In my spare time I also serve as a board member at the global poverty alleviation non-profit Spreeha and sit on the Equity and Inclusion committee at my kids’ school.
